Country specific requirements

If you have completed the degree that you are applying/applied with in any of the African Countries, Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan or Sri Lanka, carefully read the instructions as you are required to follow a certain process for document authentication if getting admitted.

At the time of applying

  • No official certification for educational documents required
    You will upload scans for your original educational documents to your Online Application Form – plus, official translations (when applicable).

If Admitted

  • If admitted, you must provide LUT Admissions Services with the copies for your Degree Certificate and Transcript of Records.

If required to provide us with officially certified copies for your educational documents that have been attested as requested in the country-specific requirements, please look the specifications below for further details.

In many cases the country-specific requirements must be completed by for example, attesting the copy for the Degree Certificate through general official certification or legalisation, if not specifically instructed in the country-specific requirements otherwise.

    There will be no exceptions made to the following requirements or the dates for providing the documents as requested.
All African countries

If your degree has been/will be awarded in any of the African countries

Transcript of Records (ToR)

  • An official ToR must be mailed to LUT Admissions Services directly by the awarding university.
    The ToR must be certified with an original stamp of the institution and an original signature of the certifying officer.
    An officially certified copy for the original ToR mailed by the university will not be accepted as the ToR must be an official one.
    The envelope must be sealed with an official stamp of the university across the back flap of the envelope, while any generic stamps like “sealed” are not accepted.
  • We also accept digital credentials by Digitary directly from the applicant.

Degree Certificate (DC)

  • The copy for the DC must be either officially certified by the awarding university or legalised. 
    The document can be mailed by the applicant or, the university.
  • We also accept digital credentials by Digitary directly from the applicant.

If the original documents are not issued in English, official translations must be submitted as well.

Bangladesh

If your degree has been/will be awarded in Bangladesh

Degree Certificate (DC) & Transcript of Records (ToR)

  • The copies for your DC and ToR must be officially certified by the Consular and Welfare Wing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.
    Every non-blank side of each page for all the copies must carry the original verification stamp and signature of an official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.
    Both the DC and ToR must be awarded by the main university or a college with the degree-awarding status, while documents awarded by affiliated colleges are not accepted.

  • We also accept digital credentials by Digitary directly from the applicant.

If the original documents are not issued in English, official translations must be submitted as well.

China

If your degree has been/will be awarded in China

One of the following methods must be followed for document authentication.

OPTION 1

Degree Certificate (DC) & Transcript of Records (ToR)

  • The copies for your DC and ToR must be officially certified by Notary Public and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in China.
    Please note that some of the local Notary Publics are offering Diplomatic Notary Services as well.

    The officially certified copies and official translations for ToR and DC to be mailed by the applicant.

If the original documents are not issued in English, official translations must be submitted as well.

OPTION 2

Degree Certificate (DC)

Transcript of Records (ToR)

  • The copy for your ToR must be officially certified with the original stamp of the awarding university and an original signature of the certifying officer.
  • In addition, you must submit your ToR to
    CHESICC (China Higher Education Student Information and Career Center)

    for verification and request them to e-mail their verification report for your ToR in English to LUT Admissions Services at admission@lut.fi.

  • We also accept digital credentials by Digitary from CHESICC

If the original documents are not issued in English, official translations must be submitted as well.

Please note that the processing times at the CDGDC and CHESICC and submit your documents for verification well in advance.

India

If your degree has been/will be awarded in India

Transcript of Records (ToR)

  • An official ToR must be mailed to LUT Admissions Services directly by the awarding university.
    The ToR must be certified with an original stamp of the institution and an original signature of the certifying officer.
    An officially certified copy for the original ToR mailed by the university will not be accepted as the ToR must be an official one.
    The envelope must be sealed with an official stamp of the university across the back flap of the envelope, while any generic stamps like “sealed” are not accepted.

    The student may also mail the document if it has been placed in a univeristy envelope which is sealed with the official stamp of the university as explained above. The seal must not be broken at any time.
    The ToR may be awarded either by the main university or college (autonomous or affiliated).
  • We also accept digital credentials by Digitary directly from the applicant.

Degree Certificate (DC)

  • The copy for the DC must be either officially certified by the awarding university or legalised. 
    The DC must always be awarded by the main university while DC awarded by an affiliated college will not be accepted.
    The document can be mailed by the applicant or, the university.
  • We also accept digital credentials by Digitary directly from the applicant.

If the original documents are not issued in English, official translations must be submitted as well.

Indonesia

If your degree has been/will be awarded in Indonesia

Transcript of Records (ToR)

  • An official ToR must be mailed to LUT Admissions Services directly by the awarding university.
    The ToR must be certified with an original stamp of the institution and an original signature of the certifying officer.
    An officially certified copy for the original ToR mailed by the university will not be accepted as the ToR must be an official one.
    The envelope must be sealed with an official stamp of the university across the back flap of the envelope, while any generic stamps like “sealed” are not accepted.
  • We also accept digital credentials by Digitary directly from the applicant.

Iran

If your degree has been/will be awarded in Iran

Degree Certificate (DC) & Transcript of Records (ToR)

  • Official translations for DC and ToR must be certified by the Ministry of Justice of Iran.
  • Documents certified by the Ministry of Justice of Iran must be legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran.
  • Documents legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran must be legalised by the Finnish Embassy in Tehran.

    All these copies for the educational documents must bear the original stamps of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran and the Finnish Embassy in Tehran.
    Copies for the educational documents – even if officially certified – are not accepted.
    NOTE: Please contact the Finnish Embassy for the detailed instructions regarding to how the documents are required to be handed over to them for the process.

Malaysia

If your degree has been/will be awarded in Malaysia

Transcript of Records (ToR)

  • An official ToR must be mailed to LUT Admissions Services directly by the awarding university.

    An officially certified copy for the original ToR mailed by the university will not be accepted as the ToR must be an official one.

If your degree has been/will be awarded in Nepal

Transcript of Records (ToR)

  • An official ToR must be mailed to LUT Admissions Services directly by the awarding university.
    The ToR must be certified with an original stamp of the institution and an original signature of the certifying officer.
    An officially certified copy for the original ToR mailed by the university will not be accepted as the ToR must be an official one.
    The envelope must be sealed with an official stamp of the university across the back flap of the envelope, while any generic stamps like “sealed” are not accepted.

Pakistan

If your degree has been/will be awarded in Pakistan

Degree Certificate (DC)
Transcript of Records (ToR)

  • Copies taken for the original DC and ToR must be certified by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Pakistan.
    Every non-blank side of each page for all the copies must carry the original attestation stamp and signature of an HEC official.

    Copies for HEC attested copies are not accepted.
    Copies for educational documents certified by HEC before September 20, 2009 are not accepted as the copies must be verifiable from the HEC online service.


    Both the DC and the ToR must be awarded by the main university or college with the degree-awarding status while documents awarded by an affiliated college will not be accepted. 
  • We also accept digital credentials by Digitary directly from the applicant.

If the original documents are not issued in English, official translations must be submitted as well.

Sri Lanka

If your degree has been/will be awarded in Sri Lanka

Transcript of Records (ToR)

  • An official ToR must be mailed to LUT Admissions Services directly by the awarding university.
    The ToR must be certified with an original stamp of the institution and an original signature of the certifying officer.
    An officially certified copy for the original ToR mailed by the university will not be accepted as the ToR must be an official one.
