Trailblazers. Science with a purpose
Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (established in 1969) is a Finnish national university of technology and economics, financed by the Ministry of Education. The most outstanding feature of the university is the way in which it has successfully integrated expertise in technology and economics. LUT`s location on the border between the EU and Russia has also had a major impact in the university’s activities and orientation. LUT is strongly focusing on sustainable solutions of the future in all of the disciplines covered by the university. Our Green Campus is the showcase of these activities.
UnivAQ
Software Engineering at the maximum level!
Established in 1952 (but its origins date back to the 16th century), the University of L’Aquila (UnivAQ) is a public teaching and research institution offering a full range of academic programs including biotechnologies, sciences, economics, engineering, education, humanities, medicine, psychology, and sport sciences. At present UAQ counts about 20,000 students, around 650 teachers and researchers, and nearly 500 administrative and technical staff members.
UnivAQ is located in L’Aquila, the capital city of the Abruzzo region in Italy. Laid out within medieval walls upon a hillside in the middle of a narrow valley; tall snow-capped mountains of the Gran Sasso massif flank the town. A maze of narrow streets, lined with Baroque and Renaissance buildings and churches, open onto elegant piazzas. It is a lively college town and, as such, has many cultural institutions: a repertory theater, a symphony orchestra, a fine-arts academy, a state conservatory, a film institute. Check this link for more information about L’Aquila and the Abruzzo region.
SE4GreenDeal is hosted by the Department of Information Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics (DISIM) and is currently running five Erasmus Mundus programs. The Software Engineering team is renowned worldwide for its hundreds of published articles, tens of research projects, and a multi-disciplinary view on the topic, ranging from model-driven, software architecture, software performance engineering, service-oriented engineering, autonomous systems and robotics software engineering. All reflected in many courses offered on the topic.
